Every now and again when I’m talking to someone who I’m feeling a strong connection with, I’ll remember to ask them if they have heard of TED. If the response is no then I inevitably become animated and start sharing details of my favourite talks. After one such conversation recently, it dawned on me that I should share some of my favourite talks with you and in case you haven’t heard of TED, two lines I read on the website sum it up perfectly for me, ‘ideas worth spreading’ and ‘riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world’. Need I say more?
Brene Brown: The Power of vulnerability
This talk changed my life. It was the discovery of Brene Brown, through this talk, that got me in to the whole world of blogging. Through Brene I discovered my earliest influences on my blogging journey such as Chris Guillebeau, Kate Swoboda and Niall Doherty. I have since read much of Brene’s work and she continues to influence me on a daily basis. If you haven’t heard of her before, I strongly recommend that you check her out.
Susan Cain: The Power of Introverts
I’m a huge fan of Susan Cain, it’s through her blog and book of the same name that I have become increasingly comfortable seeing myself as an introvert and appreciating what that means for me and the world around me. Whether you see yourself as an introvert or an extrovert, this woman’s talk and book are fascinating.
Ric Elias: 3 things I learned while my plane crashed
I stumbled across this talk one day when browsing through the TED website, as I love to do sometimes, and it resonated with me strongly. I’m hugely motivated to live a life, as free from regret as I can and this talk reaffirmed my beliefs on making the most of life before it’s too late.
Drew Dudley: Everyday leadership
I love this talk, I think Drew and his message here is incredibly inspirational and a great reminder to share with others when they’ve touched our lives.
Jill Bolte Taylor’s stroke of insight
This talk gave me goosebumps.

Only seen the first one so thanks for sharing the rest. Now, you don’t even have to ask about specific talks in conversation – you can email this link on your blog to people you meet to ask them if they’ve heard of these talks:)
Glad to see you’re going full steam ahead with your 30 posts!!!
Thanks Vishnu, good idea!
Hi Caroline,
I also very often bring up TED if I sense that there might be an interest, Such A Huge FAN!
Impossible to choose really but this one I saw recently and it’s really uplifting, hope-giving…for days when there are too many people saying the future is dark:

Hi Eve, I’m so pleased to hear that, I felt the exact same way after I watched it
It’s 16th July – congrats on meeting the half way point of your month of posting! I’ve loved reading your daily posts – would it be a lot to ask if you carried on posting daily…forever? (Too much?) Big respect, especially given the hectic month you’re having
Thanks for the reminder about a couple of these talks that I’ve meant to revisit for a while. Since you introduced me to TED and its wonders in the first place, I thought it only right to comment on your post about it!
Can’t wait to read the rest of the month’s musings.
Thank you so much for the encouragement dude and thanks also for all the TED talks you’ve passed my way!
